Isaiah 47:1-6

WBT 1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: [there is] no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. NIV 1 "Go down, sit in the dust, Virgin Daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, Daughter of the Babylonians. No more will you be called tender or delicate. WBT 2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. NIV 2 Take millstones and grind flour; take off your veil. Lift up your skirts, bare your legs, and wade through the streams. WBT 3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yes, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet [thee as] a man. NIV 3 Your nakedness will be exposed and your shame uncovered. I will take vengeance; I will spare no one." WBT 4 [As for] our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts [is] his name, the Holy One of Israel. NIV 4 Our Redeemer--the LORD Almighty is his name-- is the Holy One of Israel. WBT 5 Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms. NIV 5 "Sit in silence, go into darkness, Daughter of the Babylonians; no more will you be called queen of kingdoms. WBT 6 I was wroth with my people, I have polluted my inheritance, and given them into thy hand: thou didst show them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke. NIV 6 I was angry with my people and desecrated my inheritance; I gave them into your hand, and you showed them no mercy. Even on the aged you laid a very heavy yoke.
