NRS 1 "Call now; is there anyone who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn? NIV 1 "Call if you will, but who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn? NRS 2 Surely vexation kills the fool, and jealousy slays the simple. NIV 2 Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple. NRS 3 I have seen fools taking root, but suddenly I cursed their dwelling. NIV 3 I myself have seen a fool taking root, but suddenly his house was cursed. NRS 4 Their children are far from safety, they are crushed in the gate, and there is no one to deliver them. NIV 4 His children are far from safety, crushed in court without a defender. NRS 5 The hungry eat their harvest, and they take it even out of the thorns; and the thirsty pant after their wealth. NRS 23 For you shall be in league with the stones of the field, and the wild animals shall be at peace with you. NRS 24 You shall know that your tent is safe, you shall inspect your fold and miss nothing. NIV 24 You will know that your tent is secure; you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing. NRS 25 You shall know that your descendants will be many, and your offspring like the grass of the earth. NIV 25 You will know that your children will be many, and your descendants like the grass of the earth. NRS 26 You shall come to your grave in ripe old age, as a shock of grain comes up to the threshing floor in its season. NIV 26 You will come to the grave in full vigor, like sheaves gathered in season. NRS 27 See, we have searched this out; it is true. Hear, and know it for yourself." NIV 27 "We have examined this, and it is true. So hear it and apply it to yourself."
