NRS 1 After Jesus had spoken these words, he looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you, NIV 1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. NRS 2 since you have given him authority over all people, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. NIV 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. NRS 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. NIV 3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. NRS 4 I glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do. NIV 4 I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. NRS 5 So now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world existed. NIV 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. NRS 6 "I have made your name known to those whom you gave me from the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. NIV 6 "I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. NRS 7 Now they know that everything you have given me is from you; NIV 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. NRS 8 for the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. NIV 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. NRS 9 I am asking on their behalf; I am not asking on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those whom you gave me, because they are yours. NIV 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. NRS 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine; and I have been glorified in them. NIV 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. NRS 11 And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one. NIV 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one. NRS 12 While I was with them, I protected them in your name that you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost except the one destined to be lost, so that the scripture might be fulfilled. NIV 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. NRS 13 But now I am coming to you, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have my joy made complete in themselves. NIV 13 "I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. NRS 14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. NIV 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. NRS 15 I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one. NIV 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. NRS 16 They do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. NIV 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. NRS 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. NIV 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. NRS 18 As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. NIV 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. NRS 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, so that they also may be sanctified in truth. NIV 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. NRS 20 "I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, NIV 20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, NRS 21 that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. NIV 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. NRS 22 The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one, NIV 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: NRS 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. NIV 23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. NRS 24 Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. NIV 24 "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. NRS 25 "Righteous Father, the world does not know you, but I know you; and these know that you have sent me. NIV 25 "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. NRS 26 I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them." NIV 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."
