Luke 10:38-42

NRS 38 Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. NIV 38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. NRS 39 She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to what he was saying. NIV 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. NRS 40 But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me." NIV 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself ? Tell her to help me!" NRS 41 But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; NIV 41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, NRS 42 there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her." NIV 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
