CEBA 1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they could go and anoint Jesus' dead body. CEBA 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they came to the tomb. NIV 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. CEBA 6 But he said to them, "Don't be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He isn't here. Look, here's the place where they laid him. NIV 6 "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. CEBA 7 Go, tell his disciples, especially Peter, that he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you." NIV 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' " CEBA 8 Overcome with terror and dread, they fled from the tomb. Jesus criticized their unbelief and stubbornness because they didn't believe those who saw him after he was raised up. NIV 14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. CEBA 15 He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to every creature. NIV 15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. CEBA 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever doesn't believe will be condemned. NIV 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. CEBA 17 These signs will be associated with those who believe: they will throw out demons in my name. They will speak in new languages. NIV 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; CEBA 18 They will pick up snakes with their hands. If they drink anything poisonous, it will not hurt them. They will place their hands on the sick, and they will get well." CEBA 19 After the Lord Jesus spoke to them, he was lifted up into heaven and sat down on the right side of God.
