Mark 16

LEB 1 And [when] the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the [mother] of James, and Salome purchased fragrant spices so that they could go [and] anoint him. NIV 1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. LEB 2 And very early in the morning on the first [day] of the week they came to the tomb [after] the sun had risen. NIV 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb LEB 3 And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?" NIV 3 and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?" LEB 4 And [when they] looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away (for it was very large). NIV 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. LEB 5 And [as they] were going into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. NIV 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. LEB 6 But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene who was crucified. He has been raised, he is not here! See the place where they laid him! NIV 6 "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. LEB 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you." NIV 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' " LEB 8 And they went out [and] fled from the tomb, because trembling and amazement had seized them. And they said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. NIV 8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. NIV 12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. LEB 13 And these went [and] reported [it] to the others, and they did not believe them. NIV 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. LEB 14 And later, [while] they were reclining at table, he appeared to the eleven. And he reprimanded their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him [after he] had been raised. NIV 14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. LEB 15 And he said to them, "Go into all the world [and] preach the gospel to all creation. NIV 15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. LEB 16 The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who refuses to believe will be condemned. NIV 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. LEB 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will expel demons, they will speak in new tongues, NIV 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; LEB 18 they will pick up snakes. And if they drink any deadly [poison] it will never hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and {they will get} well." NIV 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." LEB 19 Then the Lord Jesus, after [he] had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. NIV 19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. LEB 20 And they went out [and] proclaimed everywhere, [while] the Lord was working together with [them] and confirming the message through the accompanying signs.]] NIV 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
