21 And so it was that when the cloud <em>remained</em> from evening unto the morning, and in the morning the cloud was taken up, then they journeyed; or <em>if it had remained during</em> the day and the cloud was taken up by night, they journeyed.
21 Sometimes the cloud stayed only from evening till morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they set out. Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out.
