Proverbs 1:20-33

TMBA 20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets. NIV 20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares; TMBA 21 She crieth in the chief places of concourse, in the openings of the gates; in the city she uttereth her words, saying, NIV 21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateways of the city she makes her speech: TMBA 22 "How long, ye simple ones, will ye love to be simple, and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? NIV 22 "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? TMBA 23 Turn you at my reproof: Behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you; I will make known my words unto you. NIV 23 If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you. TMBA 24 "Because I have called and ye refused, I have stretched out my hand and no man heeded, NIV 24 But since you rejected me when I called and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand, TMBA 25 but ye have set at nought all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, NIV 25 since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke, TMBA 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh, NIV 26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster; I will mock when calamity overtakes you-- TMBA 27 when your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind, when distress and anguish cometh upon you. NIV 27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. TMBA 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me, NIV 28 "Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me. TMBA 29 because they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD. NIV 29 Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD, TMBA 30 They would have none of my counsel, and they despised all my reproof: NIV 30 since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, TMBA 31 therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own ways, and be filled with their own devices. NIV 31 they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. TMBA 32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them; NIV 32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; TMBA 33 but whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall have quiet from fear of evil." NIV 33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."
