Psalm 107

NAS 1 Oh give thanks to the LORD , for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. NIV 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. NAS 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary NIV 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say this-- those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, NAS 3 And gathered from the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. NIV 3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. NAS 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region; They did not find a way to an inhabited city. NIV 4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. NAS 5 They were hungry and thirsty; Their soul fainted within them. NIV 11 for they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High. NAS 12 Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was none to help. NIV 12 So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help. NAS 13 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. NAS 24 They have seen the works of the LORD , And His wonders in the deep. NIV 24 They saw the works of the LORD, his wonderful deeds in the deep. NAS 25 For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, Which lifted up the waves of the sea. NIV 25 For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves. NAS 26 They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; Their soul melted away in their misery. NIV 26 They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. NAS 27 They reeled and staggered like a drunken man, And were at their wits' end. NAS 33 He changes rivers into a wilderness And springs of water into a thirsty ground; NIV 33 He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground, NAS 34 A fruitful land into a salt waste, Because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it. NAS 35 He changes a wilderness into a pool of water And a dry land into springs of water; NIV 35 He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; NAS 36 And there He makes the hungry to dwell, So that they may establish an inhabited city, NIV 36 there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle. NAS 37 And sow fields and plant vineyards, And gather a fruitful harvest. NIV 37 They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest; NAS 38 Also He blesses them and they multiply greatly, And He does not let their cattle decrease. NIV 38 he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish. NAS 39 When they are diminished and bowed down Through oppression, misery and sorrow, NIV 39 Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow; NAS 40 He pours contempt upon princes And makes them wander in a pathless waste. NIV 40 he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste. NAS 41 But He sets the needy securely on high away from affliction, And makes his families like a flock. NIV 41 But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks. NAS 42 The upright see it and are glad; But all unrighteousness shuts its mouth. NIV 42 The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths. NAS 43 Who is wise? Let him give heed to these things, And consider the lovingkindnesses of the LORD . NIV 43 Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the LORD.
