Psalm 7

LEB 1 O Yahweh, my God, in you I have taken refuge. Save me from all [who] pursue me, and deliver me. NIV 1 O LORD my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me, LEB 2 Or else he will tear me apart like a lion, ripping to pieces, with none [to] deliver. NIV 2 or they will tear me like a lion and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me. LEB 3 O Yahweh, my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands, NIV 3 O LORD my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands-- LEB 4 if I have repaid {my ally} [with] harm, or [if] I have plundered my enemy without cause, NIV 4 if I have done evil to him who is at peace with me or without cause have robbed my foe-- LEB 5 let the enemy of my soul pursue, and overtake and trample my life into the ground, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah NIV 5 then let my enemy pursue and overtake me; let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust. "Selah" LEB 6 Rise up, O Yahweh, in your anger, and lift yourself up against the wrath of my oppressors, and awake for me, since you have commanded judgment. NIV 6 Arise, O LORD, in your anger; rise up against the rage of my enemies. Awake, my God; decree justice. LEB 7 And let [the] assembly of peoples surround you, and over it return on high. NIV 7 Let the assembled peoples gather around you. Rule over them from on high; LEB 8 Yahweh judges the nations. O Yahweh, vindicate me according to my innocence and according to my integrity within me. NIV 8 let the LORD judge the peoples. Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High. LEB 9 Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish [the] righteous, and test the hearts and innermost being, O righteous God. NIV 9 O righteous God, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure. LEB 10 My shield [is] with God who saves the upright of heart. NIV 10 My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. LEB 11 God [is] a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day. NIV 11 God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day. LEB 12 If he does not repent, he will sharpen his sword. He has bent his bow and he has {strung} it. NIV 12 If he does not relent, he will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. LEB 13 And he has prepared for him weapons of death. He has made his arrows fiery shafts. NIV 13 He has prepared his deadly weapons; he makes ready his flaming arrows. LEB 14 See, he travails with evil. He is pregnant with trouble, and he gives birth to deception. NIV 14 He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment. LEB 15 He makes a pit and digs it out, then falls in [the] trap he has made. NIV 15 He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made. LEB 16 His trouble comes back on his head, and his violence comes down on his skull. NIV 16 The trouble he causes recoils on himself; his violence comes down on his own head. LEB 17 I will thank Yahweh according to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of Yahweh, [the] Most High. NIV 17 I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
