Romans 5

TMB 1 Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, NIV 1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, TMB 2 by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. NIV 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. TMB 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; NIV 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; TMB 4 and patience, experience; and experience, hope; NIV 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. TMB 5 and hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost who is given unto us. NIV 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. TMB 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. NIV 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. TMB 7 For scarcely will one die for a righteous man, yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die. NIV 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. TMB 8 But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. NIV 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. TMB 9 Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. NIV 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! TMB 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. NIV 10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! TMB 11 And not only that, but we shall also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. NIV 11 Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. TMB 12 Therefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed onto all men, for all have sinned. NIV 12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned-- TMB 13 For until the law, sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. NIV 13 for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. TMB 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the similitude of Adam's transgression, he being the figure of Him that was to come. NIV 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. TMB 15 But not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one Man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. NIV 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! TMB 16 And not as it was by one who sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is for many offenses unto justification. NIV 16 Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. TMB 17 For if by one man's offense death reigned by one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ. NIV 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. TMB 18 Therefore as by the offense of one, judgment to condemnation came upon all men, even so by the righteousness of One, the free gift unto justification of life came upon all men. NIV 18 Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. TMB 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous. NIV 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. TMB 20 Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound, NIV 20 The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, TMB 21 that, as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. NIV 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
