Romans 5:1-11

CEB 1 Therefore, since we have been made righteous through his faithfulness combined with our faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. NRS 1 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, CEB 2 We have access by faith into this grace in which we stand through him, and we boast in the hope of God's glory. NRS 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. CEB 3 But not only that! We even take pride in our problems, because we know that trouble produces endurance, NRS 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, CEB 4 endurance produces character, and character produces hope. NRS 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, CEB 5 This hope doesn't put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. NRS 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. CEB 6 While we were still weak, at the right moment, Christ died for ungodly people. NRS 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. CEB 7 It isn't often that someone will die for a righteous person, though maybe someone might dare to die for a good person. NRS 7 Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. CEB 8 But God shows his love for us, because while we were still sinners Christ died for us. NRS 8 But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. CEB 9 So, now that we have been made righteous by his blood, we can be even more certain that we will be saved from God's wrath through him. NRS 9 Much more surely then, now that we have been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath of God. CEB 10 If we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son while we were still enemies, now that we have been reconciled, how much more certain is it that we will be saved by his life? NRS 10 For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life. CEB 11 And not only that: we even take pride in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, the one through whom we now have a restored relationship with God. NRS 11 But more than that, we even boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
