Mark 13:24-37

CEB 24 “In those days, after the suffering of that time, the sun will become dark, and the moon won't give its light. NRS 24 "But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, CEB 25 The stars will fall from the sky, and the planets and other heavenly bodies will be shaken. NRS 25 and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. CEB 26 Then they will see the Human One coming in the clouds with great power and splendor. NRS 26 Then they will see "the Son of Man coming in clouds' with great power and glory. CEB 27 Then he will send the angels and gather together his chosen people from the four corners of the earth, from the end of the earth to the end of heaven. NRS 27 Then he will send out the angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. CEB 28 “Learn this parable from the fig tree. After its branch becomes tender and it sprouts new leaves, you know that summer is near. NRS 28 "From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. CEB 29 In the same way, when you see these things happening, you know that he's near, at the door. NRS 29 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. CEB 30 I assure you that this generation won't pass away until all these things happen. NRS 30 Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. CEB 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will certainly not pass away. NRS 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. CEB 32 "But nobody knows when that day or hour will come, not the angels in heaven and not the Son. Only the Father knows. NRS 32 "But about that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. CEB 33 Watch out! Stay alert! You don't know when the time is coming. NRS 33 Beware, keep alert; for you do not know when the time will come. CEB 34 It is as if someone took a trip, left the household behind, and put the servants in charge, giving each one a job to do, and told the doorkeeper to stay alert. NRS 34 It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his slaves in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch. CEB 35 Therefore, stay alert! You don't know when the head of the household will come, whether in the evening or at midnight, or when the rooster crows in the early morning or at daybreak. NRS 35 Therefore, keep awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn, CEB 36 Don't let him show up when you weren't expecting and find you sleeping. NRS 36 or else he may find you asleep when he comes suddenly. CEB 37 What I say to you, I say to all: Stay alert!" NRS 37 And what I say to you I say to all: Keep awake."
