1 Chronicles 3:1-7

1 These were David's sons who were born to him while he was in Hebron: His first son was Amnon, [born] to Ahinoam from Jezreel. The second was Daniel, [born] to Abigail from Carmel.
2 The third was Absalom, [born] to Maacah (the daughter of King Talmai) from Geshur. The fourth was Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith.
3 The fifth was Shephatiah, [born] to Abital. The sixth was Ithream, [born] to David's wife Eglah.
4 Six sons were born to him in Hebron, where he ruled for seven years and six months. He ruled for 33 years in Jerusalem.
5 These [children] were born to David in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon (the mother of these four was Ammiel's daughter Bathshua) and

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 3

This chapter gives an account of the sons of David, born to him both in Hebron and in Jerusalem, 1Ch 3:1-9, and of his successors in the kingdom, to the Babylonish captivity, 1Ch 3:10-16, and of his family, to the coming of the Messiah, 1Ch 3:17-24.

born in Hebron, who are reckoned in the same order as in 2Sa 3:2-5, only here the second son is called Daniel, who there goes by the name of Chileab; he had two names, the reason of which see there; and here David's wife, Eglah, is said in the Targum to be Michal, Saul's daughter, \\See Gill on "2Sa 3:5"\\, to which is added an account of his reign both in Hebron and Jerusalem, agreeably to 2Sa 5:5. 18321-941229-1000-1Ch3.2
