They were ware of it, and fleduntoLystraandDerbe,cities of Lycaonia,and unto the region that lieth round about:

And there sat a certainmanatLystra,impotent in his feet,being a cripplefromhismother'swomb,whonever had walked:

The sameheardPaulspeak: who stedfastly beholdinghim,andperceivingthat he hadfaith to be healed,

Said with a loudvoice,Standuprightonthyfeet.And he leapedandwalked.

And when the peoplesawwhatPaul had done, they lifted uptheirvoices,saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come downtous in the likeness of men.

And they calledBarnabas*, Jupiter;andPaul,Mercurius,becausehewas the chiefspeaker.

Then the priest of Jupiter,whichwasbeforetheircity,broughtoxenandgarlandsunto the gates, and would have done sacrificewith the people.
