On the nextday, their 3rulers and elders and scribes were gatheredtogether in Jerusalem;

and 4Annas the highpriest was there, and 5Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and allwho were of high-priestlydescent.

When they had placed them in the center, they began to inquire, "By whatpower, or in whatname, have you donethis?"

ThenPeter, 6filled with the HolySpirit, said to them, "7Rulers and elders of the people,

if we are on trialtoday for 8a benefitdone to a sickman, as to howthisman has been madewell,

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that 9by the name of JesusChrist the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom10Godraised from the dead -by this name thismanstandsherebefore you in goodhealth.

"11He is the 12STONE WHICH WAS 13REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEFCORNER stone.

"And there is salvation in 14no*oneelse; for there is noothernameunderheaven that has been givenamongmen by which we must be saved."

13Now as they observed the 15confidence of 16Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrainedmen, they were amazed, and 17began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.
