1All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is 2except the Father, or who the Father is 3except the Son and anyone 4to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

Then turning to the disciples he said privately, 5"Blessed are the eyes that see what you see!

For I tell you 6that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it."
The Parable of the Good Samaritan
257And behold, a 8lawyer stood up to 9put him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to 10inherit eternal life?"

He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How do you read it?"

And he answered, 11"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and 12your neighbor as yourself."

And he said to him, "You have answered correctly; 13do this, and you will live."

But he, 14desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

Jesus replied, "A man 15was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead.

Now by chance a 16priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side.

So likewise 17a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
