1Some of the Pharisees in the crowdsaid to Him, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples."

But Jesus answered, "I tell you, ifthesebecomesilent, 2the stones will cry out!"

When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and 3weptover it,
42
saying, "If you had known in thisday, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.
43
"For the days will come upon you when your enemies will 4throw up a barricade against you, and 5surround you and hem you in on everyside,
44
and they will level you to the ground and your childrenwithin you, and 6they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because* you did not recognize7the time of your visitation."
Traders Driven from the Temple
458Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling,

saying to them, "It is written, '9AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,' 10but you have made it a ROBBERS'DEN."

And 11He was teachingdaily* in the temple; but the chiefpriests and the scribes and the leadingmen among the people12were trying to destroy Him,

and they could not findanything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to every word He said.
