"But when thesethingsbegin to takeplace, straighten up and lift up your heads, because1your redemption is drawingnear."

Then He told them a parable: "Behold the figtree and all the trees;

as soon* as they putforth leaves, you see it and 2know for yourselves that summer is nownear.

"So you also, when you seethesethingshappening, recognize that 3the kingdom of God is near.

"Truly I say to you, thisgeneration will not passawayuntilallthingstakeplace.

"4Heaven and earth will passaway, but My words will not passaway.

"5Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighteddown with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenlylike a trap;
35
for it will come upon allthose who dwell on the face of all the earth.

"But 6keep on the alert at alltimes, praying that you may havestrength to escapeallthesethings that are about to takeplace, and to 7standbefore the Son of Man."

Now during the day He was 8teaching in the temple, but 9at evening He would go out and spend the night on 10the mount that is calledOlivet.

And all the people would get up 11early in the morning to come to Him in the temple to listen to Him.
