Isaías 15:1-8

1 Carga de Moab, cierto, de noche fue destruida Ar-Moab, fue puesta en silencio. Cierto, de noche fue destruida Kir-Moab, fue puesta en silencio

2 Subió a Bayit y a Dibón, altares, a llorar; sobre Nebo y sobre Medeba aullará Moab; toda cabeza de ella se mesará, y toda barba será raída

3 Se ceñirán de cilicio en sus plazas; en sus terrados y en sus calles todos aullarán, descendiendo en llanto

4 Hesbón y Eleale gritarán, hasta Jahaza se oirá su voz; por lo que aullarán los armados de Moab, se lamentará el alma de cada uno de por sí

5 Mi corazón dará gritos por Moab; sus fugitivos subirán con lloro por la subida de Luhit hasta Zoar, novilla de tres años, levantarán grito de quebrantamiento por el camino de Horonaim

6 Las aguas de Nimrim se agotaron; la grama del atrio se secó, faltó la hierba, verdor no hubo

7 Por lo cual lo que cada uno guardó, y sus riquezas sobre el arroyo de los sauces serán llevadas

8 El llanto cercó los términos de Moab; hasta Eglaim llegó su alarido, y hasta Beer-elim llegó su clamor

INTRODUCTION TO ISAIAH 15

This chapter is a prophecy of the destruction of the Moabites; two of their principal cities are mentioned as made desolate, Isa 15:1 the inhabitants in divers places are represented as weeping and mourning, and showing various signs of it, Isa 15:2,3 yea, not only the common people, but the armed soldiers also, Isa 15:4 nay, even the prophet himself, Isa 15:5 the reasons of which were the great drought, so that there were no grass, nor green thing, Isa 15:6 the carrying away of their good things, either by themselves or others, Isa 15:7 the flight and cry of the people to the very borders of the land, Isa 15:8 and the great effusion of blood, Isa 15:9.
