Levítico 11:36-46

36 »Sin embargo, si el cadáver de uno de estos animales cae en un manantial o en una cisterna, el agua permanecerá pura pero cualquiera que toque el cadáver quedará contaminado.

37 Si el cadáver cae sobre la semilla que será sembrada en el campo, aun así, la semilla será considerada pura;

38 pero si la semilla está húmeda cuando el cadáver cae sobre ella, la semilla quedará contaminada.

39 »Si un animal que te está permitido comer muere, y alguien toca el cadáver, esa persona quedará contaminada hasta el anochecer.

40 Si come de su carne o se lleva el cadáver, deberá lavar su ropa y permanecerá contaminada hasta el anochecer.

41 »Todos los animales pequeños que corren por el suelo son detestables, y nunca deberás comerlos.

42 Esto incluye todos los animales que se deslizan sobre el vientre, como también los de cuatro patas y los de muchas patas. Todos esos animales que corren por el suelo son detestables, y nunca deberás comerlos.

43 No te contamines a ti mismo al tocarlos. No te hagas ceremonialmente impuro a causa de ellos.

44 Pues yo soy el Señor
tu Dios. Debes consagrarte y ser santo, porque yo soy santo. Así que no te contamines al tocar cualquiera de estos animales pequeños que corren por el suelo.

INTRODUCTION TO LEVITICUS 11

This chapter treats of creatures clean and unclean, as fit or not fit to be eaten; and first of beasts, whose signs are given, Le 11:1-8 then of fishes, which are likewise described, Le 11:9-12 after that of fowls, and those that are not to be eaten are particularly named, Le 11:13-19 next of creeping things, which are distinguished into two sorts, as flying creeping things, of which those that are unclean, their carcasses are not even to be touched, as neither the carcasses of unclean beasts, Le 11:20-28 and creeping things on the earth, which defile by touching, as well as eating, and make everything unclean, upon which, being dead, they fall, Le 11:29-43 and these laws are enforced from the holiness and goodness of God, Le 11:44,45 and the chapter is concluded with a recapitulation of them, Le 11:46,47.
