Then all the publicans and sinners drew near unto him to hear him.

And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinners and eats with them.

And he spoke this parable unto them, saying,

What man of you having a hundred sheep if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost until he finds it?

And when he has found
it, he lays
it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

And when he comes home, he calls together
his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.

I say unto you that likewise there shall be more joy in heaven over one sinner that repents than over ninety-nine just persons, who need no repentance.

Or what woman having ten drachmas, if she loses one drachma, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds
it?

And when she has found
it, she calls
her friends and
her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma which I had lost.

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.

And he said, A certain man had two sons;
