And the Phariseesalso, who werecovetous,heardall these things:and they deridedhim.

And he said unto them,Yeare they which justifyyourselvesbeforemen;butGodknowethyourhearts:for that which is highly esteemedamongmenisabomination in the sight of God.

The lawand the prophets were untilJohn:since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every manpressethintoit.

And it iseasier for heavenandearth to pass, thanonetittle of the law to fail.

Whosoever putteth awayhiswife,andmarriethanother, committeth adultery: andwhosoevermarrieth her that is put awayfrom her husband committeth adultery.

There was a certainrichman,which was clothed in purpleand fine linen, and faredsumptuouslyeveryday:

And there was a certainbeggarnamedLazarus,which was laidathisgate, full of sores,

Anddesiring to be fedwith the crumbswhichfellfrom the rich man'stable:moreoverthedogscame and lickedhissores.

And it came to pass, that the beggardied, and was carriedby the angelsintoAbraham'sbosom: the rich manalso*died, and was buried;

Andinhell he lift uphiseyes,beingintorments, and seethAbrahamafaroff,andLazarusinhisbosom.

Andhecried and said, FatherAbraham, have mercy on me,andsendLazarus,that he may dip the tip of hisfinger in water,andcoolmytongue;for I am tormentedinthisflame.

ButAbrahamsaid, Son,rememberthatthouinthylifetimereceivedstthy good things,andlikewiseLazarus evil things:butnowhe is comforted, andthou art tormented.

Andbesideallthis,betweenusandyou there is a greatgulffixed: so that they which wouldpass from hencetoyoucannot*; neither can they passtous, that would come from thence.

Then he said, I praytheetherefore,father,that thou wouldest sendhimtomyfather'shouse:

For I havefivebrethren;that he may testify unto them,lesttheyalsocomeintothisplace of torment.

Abrahamsaith unto him, They haveMosesand the prophets; let them hearthem.
