WhenHerod the king had heard these things, he was troubled , andallJerusalemwithhim.

And when he had gatheredall the chief priestsandscribes of the peopletogether , he demandedofthemwhereChrist should be born .

And they said unto him,InBethlehem of Judaea:forthus it is writtenby the prophet,

AndthouBethlehem, in the land of Juda,artnot the leastamong the princes of Juda:for out ofthee shall come a Governor , that shall rulemypeopleIsrael.

ThenHerod, when he had privilycalled the wise men,enquiredofthemdiligently what time the starappeared .

And he sentthemtoBethlehem, and said , Go and searchdiligentlyfor the young child;andwhen ye have found him, bringme word again , that I may come and worshiphimalso.

When they had heard the king, they departed ; and,lo , the star,which they sawin the east, went beforethem,till it came and stoodoverwhere the young childwas .

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedinggreatjoy.

And when they were comeinto the house, they saw the young childwithMaryhismother,and fell down , and worshippedhim:and when they had openedtheirtreasures, they presented unto himgifts;gold,andfrankincense,andmyrrh.

And being warned of Godin a dream that they shouldnotreturntoHerod, they departedinto their owncountryanother*way.

And when they were departed , behold , the angel of the Lordappeareth to Josephin a dream,saying , Arise , and take the young childandhismother,andfleeintoEgypt,and be thouthereuntilIbringtheeword : forHerodwillseek the young child to destroyhim.
