Proverbios 10:14-24

14 Las personas sabias atesoran el conocimiento,
pero el hablar por hablar del necio invita al desastre.

15 La riqueza del rico es su fortaleza,
la pobreza del pobre es su ruina.

16 Las ganancias de los justos realzan sus vidas,
pero la gente malvada derrocha su dinero en el pecado.

17 Los que aceptan la disciplina van por el camino que lleva a la vida,
pero los que no hacen caso a la corrección se descarriarán.

18 Encubrir el odio te hace un mentiroso;
difamar a otros te hace un necio.

19 Hablar demasiado conduce al pecado.
Sé prudente y mantén la boca cerrada.

20 Las palabras del justo son como la plata refinada;
el corazón del necio no vale nada.

21 Las palabras del justo animan a muchos,
pero a los necios los destruye su falta de sentido común.

22 La bendición del Señor
enriquece a una persona
y él no añade ninguna tristeza.

23 Al necio le divierte hacer el mal,
pero al sensato le da placer vivir sabiamente.

24 Los temores del perverso se cumplirán;
las esperanzas del justo se concederán.

INTRODUCTION TO PROVERBS 10

From this chapter to the "twenty fifth" are various proverbial sentences, without any very apparent connection or coherence with each other; describing righteous and wicked men; setting forth their different temper, conduct, and actions, and the fruits and effects of them. It should be observed, that frequently in the preceding chapters two persons are represented as women; one goes by the name of "Wisdom", the other is called the "foolish" woman and a "harlot"; the former is clearly to be understood of Christ; and the latter, being opposed to him, must be antichrist, the whore of Rome, and mother of harlots: now in the following part of this book two sorts of persons are spoken of; the one as wise, righteous, good and the other as foolish, wicked, &c. who are no other than the followers of Christ and antichrist; which observation is a key to the whole book.
