Proverbs 20:6-16

Many a man 1proclaims his own steadfast love, but 2a faithful man who can find?
The righteous who 3walks in his integrity-- 4blessed are his children after him!
5A king who sits on the throne of judgment 6winnows all evil with his eyes.
7Who can say, "I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin"?
8Unequal[a] weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the LORD.
Even a child 9makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.[b]
10The hearing ear and the seeing eye, 11the LORD has made them both.
12Love not sleep, lest you 13come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have 14plenty of bread.
"Bad, bad," says the buyer, but when he goes away, then he boasts.
There is gold and abundance of 15costly stones, 16but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
17Take a man's garment when he has put up security for a stranger, and 18hold it in pledge when he puts up security for foreigners.[c]
