Who, being in very naturea God,1 did not consider equality with God2 something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,3 taking the very natureb of a servant,4 being made in human likeness.58
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death6-- even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him7 to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,810
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,9 in heaven and on earth and under the earth,1011
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,11 to the glory of God the Father.
