Blessed are they who maintain justice,1 who constantly do what is right.24
Remember me,3 O LORD, when you show favor4 to your people, come to my aid5 when you save them,
that I may enjoy the prosperity6 of your chosen ones,7 that I may share in the joy8 of your nation and join your inheritance9 in giving praise.
We have sinned,10 even as our fathers11 did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly.127
When our fathers were in Egypt, they gave no thought13 to your miracles; they did not remember14 your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea,15 the Red Sea.a8
Yet he saved them16 for his name's sake,17 to make his mighty power18 known.
He rebuked19 the Red Sea, and it dried up;20 he led them through21 the depths as through a desert.
He saved them22 from the hand of the foe;23 from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.2411
The waters covered25 their adversaries; not one of them survived.
Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.2613
But they soon forgot27 what he had done and did not wait for his counsel.28
