41 May your unfailing love¹ come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise;² 42 then I will answer³ the one who taunts me,⁴ for I trust in your word. 43 Do not snatch the word of truth from my mouth,⁵ for I have put my hope⁶ in your laws. 44 I will always obey your law,⁷ for ever and ever. 45 I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.⁸ 46 I will speak of your statutes before kings⁹ and will not be put to shame,¹⁰ 47 for I delight¹¹ in your commands because I love them.¹² 48 I lift up my hands to^a your commands, which I love, and I meditate¹³ on your decrees.

49 Remember your word¹⁴ to your servant, for you have given me hope.¹⁵ 50 My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.¹⁶ 51 The arrogant mock me¹⁷ without restraint, but I do not turn¹⁸ from your law.
