My steps have held to your paths;1 my feet have not slipped.26
I call on you, O God, for you will answer me;3 give ear to me4 and hear my prayer.57
Show the wonder of your great love,6 you who save by your right hand7 those who take refuge8 in you from their foes.
Keep me9 as the apple of your eye;10 hide me11 in the shadow of your wings129
from the wicked who assail me, from my mortal enemies who surround me.1310
They close up their callous hearts,14 and their mouths speak with arrogance.1511
They have tracked me down, they now surround me,16 with eyes alert, to throw me to the ground.
They are like a lion17 hungry for prey,18 like a great lion crouching in cover.
Rise up,19 O LORD, confront them, bring them down;20 rescue me from the wicked by your sword.
O LORD, by your hand save me from such men, from men of this world21 whose reward is in this life.22 You still the hunger of those you cherish; their sons have plenty, and they store up wealth23 for their children.
And I--in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake,24 I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.25
