I am forgotten by them as though I were dead;1 I have become like broken pottery.
For I hear the slander2 of many; there is terror on every side;3 they conspire against me4 and plot to take my life.514
But I trust6 in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."
My times7 are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.
Let your face shine8 on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.917
Let me not be put to shame,10 O LORD, for I have cried out to you; but let the wicked be put to shame and lie silent11 in the grave.a18
Let their lying lips12 be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly13 against the righteous.
How great is your goodness,14 which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men15 on those who take refuge16 in you.
In the shelter17 of your presence you hide18 them from the intrigues of men;19 in your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues.
Praise be to the LORD,20 for he showed his wonderful love21 to me when I was in a besieged city.2222
In my alarm23 I said, "I am cut off24 from your sight!" Yet you heard my cry25 for mercy when I called to you for help.
