By the word1 of the LORD were the heavens made,2 their starry host3 by the breath of his mouth.
7
He gathers the waters4 of the sea into jarsa;5 he puts the deep into storehouses.
8
Let all the earth fear the LORD;6 let all the people of the world7 revere him.8
9
For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded,9 and it stood firm.
10
The LORD foils10 the plans11 of the nations;12 he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.

But the plans of the LORD stand firm13 forever, the purposes14 of his heart through all generations.
12
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,15 the people he chose16 for his inheritance.17

From heaven the LORD looks down18 and sees all mankind;19
14
from his dwelling place20 he watches all who live on earth--
15
he who forms21 the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.22
16
No king is saved by the size of his army;23 no warrior escapes by his great strength.
