In the morning,1 O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.24
You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked3 cannot dwell.
The arrogant4 cannot stand5 in your presence; you hate6 all who do wrong.
You destroy those who tell lies;7 bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.
But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence8 will I bow down9 toward your holy temple.108
Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness11 because of my enemies-- make straight your way12 before me.
Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with destruction. Their throat is an open grave;13 with their tongue they speak deceit.1410
Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins,15 for they have rebelled16 against you.
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.17 Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name18 may rejoice in you.1912
For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;20 you surround them21 with your favor as with a shield.22
