Your people settled in it, and from your bounty,1 O God, you provided2 for the poor.
The Lord announced the word, and great was the company3 of those who proclaimed it:
"Kings and armies flee4 in haste; in the camps men divide the plunder.513
Even while you sleep among the campfires,a6 the wings of [my] dove are sheathed with silver, its feathers with shining gold."
When the Almightyb scattered7 the kings in the land, it was like snow fallen on Zalmon.815
The mountains of Bashan9 are majestic mountains;10 rugged are the mountains of Bashan.
Why gaze in envy, O rugged mountains, at the mountain where God chooses11 to reign, where the LORD himself will dwell forever?1217
The chariots13 of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands;14 the Lord [has come] from Sinai into his sanctuary.
When you ascended15 on high,16 you led captives17 in your train; you received gifts from men,18 even fromc the rebellious19-- that you,d O LORD God, might dwell there.
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,20 who daily bears our burdens.21 "Selah"
Our God is a God who saves;22 from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death.23
