1 Samuel 12:25

25 But if you will still do wickedly: both you and your king shall perish together.

1 Samuel 12:25 Meaning and Commentary

1 Samuel 12:25

But if ye shall still do wickedly
Continue to rebel against God, revolt from him, and depart from his worship, and despise his prophets, and serve idols:

ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king;
their king would be so far from protecting, that he should perish with them, be killed by the sword, as Saul their first king was, or go into captivity, as others of their kings did.

1 Samuel 12:25 In-Context

23 And far from me be this sin against the Lord, that I should cease to pray for you: and I will teach you the good and right way.
24 Therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in truth, and with your whole heart, for you have seen the great works which he hath done among you.
25 But if you will still do wickedly: both you and your king shall perish together.
