1 Timothy 5:7

7 And this give in charge, that they may be blameless.

1 Timothy 5:7 Meaning and Commentary

1 Timothy 5:7

And these things give in charge
Concerning rebuking persons of a different age and sex, and concerning the maintenance of widows; and particularly that children provide for their parents when helpless; and that widows trust in God, and give themselves to prayer and supplication, and not live in sin:

that they may be blameless;
before men, and in the view of the world, and not be chargeable with any notorious crime; though none are without blame in themselves, and before God, but as considered in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 5:7 In-Context

5 But she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, let her trust in God and continue in supplications and prayers night and day.
6 For she that liveth in pleasures is dead while she is living.
7 And this give in charge, that they may be blameless.
8 But if any man have not care of his own and especially of those of his house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel.
9 Let a widow be chosen of no less than threescore years of age, who hath been the wife of one husband.
