Mark 12:9

9 What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen and will give the vineyard to others.

Mark 12:9 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 12:9

What shall therefore the Lord of the vineyard do?
&c.] The Arabic and Ethiopic versions add, to them; that is, to the husbandmen, as is expressed in ( Matthew 21:40 ) , (See Gill on Matthew 21:40):

he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard
unto others.
As the former clause contains a question put by Christ upon his having finished the parable, this is an answer to it, given by the chief priests, Scribes, and elders, in whose presence, and for whose sake it was delivered; (See Gill on Matthew 21:41).

Mark 12:9 In-Context

7 But the husbandmen said one to another: This is the heir. Come let us kill him and the inheritance shall be ours.
8 And laying hold on him, they killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.
9 What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen and will give the vineyard to others.
10 And have you not read this scripture, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner:
11 By the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes.
