Leviticus 9:11

11 The flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp.

Leviticus 9:11 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 9:11

And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the
camp.
] With common fire, for the fire from the Lord came only upon the altar, which perhaps may be the reason of this expression being used when anything was burnt without the camp, and not on the altar, see ( Exodus 29:14 ) ( Leviticus 8:17 ) . Jarchi observes, that we do not find a sin offering burnt without the camp but this; which is a great mistake; see ( Leviticus 4:11 Leviticus 4:12 Leviticus 4:20 Leviticus 4:21 ) ( 8:17 ) .

11 The flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp.
12 And he killed the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, and he threw it on the altar round about.
13 And they delivered the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, and the head; and he burned them upon the altar.
