1 Chronicles 5:18-21

18 The sons of Reuben and the Gadites and the half-tribe * of Manasseh, consisting of valiant men, men who bore shield and sword and shot with bow and were skillful in battle, were 44,760 * * * * *, who 1went to war.
19 They made war against 2the Hagrites, 3Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.
20 They were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into their hand; for 4they cried out to God in the battle, and He answered their prayers because 5they trusted in Him.
21 They took away their cattle: their 50,000 * camels, 250,000 * * sheep, 2,000 donkeys; and 100,000 * men *.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 5

This chapter relates the genealogy of the tribes that lived on the other side Jordan; of the Reubenites, 1Ch 5:1-10, of the Gadites, 1Ch 5:11-17 of the half tribe of Manasseh, 1Ch 5:23,24 and of their war with the Hagarites, in conjunction with each other, and their conquest of them, 1Ch 5:18-22 and who for their sins were all carried captive by the king of Assyria, 1Ch 5:25,26.
