Of David."

1 In you, LORD my God, I put my trust.1 2 I trust in you;2 do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. 3 No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame,3 but shame will come on those who are treacherous4 without cause. 4 Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths.5 5 Guide me in your truth6 and teach me, for you are God my Savior,7 and my hope is in you8 all day long. 6 Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love,9 for they are from of old. 7 Do not remember the sins of my youth10 and my rebellious ways;11 according to your love12 remember me, for you, LORD, are good.13 8 Good and upright14 is the LORD; therefore he instructs15 sinners in his ways. 9 He guides16 the humble in what is right and teaches them17 his way. 10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful18 toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.19 11 For the sake of your name,20 LORD, forgive21 my iniquity,22 though it is great. 12 Who, then, are those who fear the LORD?23 He will instruct them in the ways24 they should choose. 13 They will spend their days in prosperity,25 and their descendants will inherit the land.26 14 The LORD confides27 in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known28 to them. 15 My eyes are ever on the LORD,29 for only he will release my feet from the snare.30 16 Turn to me31 and be gracious to me,32 for I am lonely33 and afflicted. 17 Relieve the troubles34 of my heart and free me from my anguish.35 18 Look on my affliction36 and my distress37 and take away all my sins.38 19 See how numerous are my enemies39 and how fiercely they hate me!40 20 Guard my life41 and rescue me;42 do not let me be put to shame,43 for I take refuge44 in you. 21 May integrity45 and uprightness46 protect me, because my hope, LORD,a is in you.47 22 Redeem Israel,48 O God, from all their troubles!
