Psalm 32 (Today's New International Version)

View In My Bible

Of David. A" maskil.

1 Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.1 2 Blessed are those whose sin the LORD does not count against them2 and in whose spirit is no deceit.3 3 When I kept silent,4 my bones wasted away5 through my groaning6 all day long. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy7 on me; my strength was sapped8 as in the heat of summer.a 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.9 I said, "I will confess10 my transgressions11 to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin.12 6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found;13 surely the rising14 of the mighty waters15 will not reach them.16 7 You are my hiding place;17 you will protect me from trouble18 and surround me with songs of deliverance.19 8 I will instruct20 you and teach you21 in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on22 you. 9 Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle23 or they will not come to you. 10 Many are the woes of the wicked,24 but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds those who trust25 in him. 11 Rejoice in the LORD26 and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
