John 10:14-18

14 ¹I am the good shepherd. ²I know my own and ³my own know me,

15 ⁴just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and ⁵I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And ⁶I have other sheep that are not of this fold. ⁷I must bring them also, and ⁸they will listen to my voice. So there will be ⁹one flock, ¹⁰one shepherd.

17 ¹¹For this reason the Father loves me, ¹²because ¹³I lay down my life that I may take it up again.

18 ¹⁴No one takes it from me, but ¹⁵I lay it down ¹⁶of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and ¹⁷I have authority to take it up again. ¹⁸This charge I have received from my Father."
