Luke 3:10-20

And the crowds asked him, 1"What then shall we do?"
And he answered them, 2"Whoever has two tunics[a] is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise."
3Tax collectors also came to be baptized and said to him, "Teacher, 4what shall we do?"
And he said to them, 5"Collect no more than you are authorized to do."
Soldiers also asked him, "And we, 6what shall we do?" And he said to them, 7"Do not extort money from anyone by threats or by false accusation, and be content with your 8wages."
As the people were in expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, 9whether he might be 10the Christ,
11John answered them all, saying, "I baptize you with water, but 12he who is mightier than I is coming, 13the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you 14with the Holy Spirit and with 15fire.
His 16winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his threshing floor and to 17gather the wheat into his barn, 18but the chaff he will burn with 19unquenchable fire."
So 20with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people.
But 21Herod the tetrarch, who had been reproved by him for Herodias, his brother's wife, and for all the evil things that Herod had done,
added this to them all, that 22he locked up John in prison.
