Psalms 112:2-10

2 His 1offspring will be mighty in the land; 2the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 3Wealth and riches are in his house, and his 4righteousness endures forever.
4 Light dawns in the darkness 5for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and 6righteous.
5 It is well with the man who 7deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.
6 For the righteous will 8never be moved; 9he will be remembered forever.
7 He is not 10afraid of bad news; his 11heart is firm, 12trusting in the LORD.
8 His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
9 He has 13distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his 14horn is exalted in honor.
10 The wicked man sees it and is angry; he 15gnashes his teeth and 16melts away; 17the desire of the wicked will perish!

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 112

This psalm, also, very probably, was written by David, and is composed as the former, in an alphabetical order. The inscription of it in the Syriac version is,

The subject matter of the psalm are the character, conduct, usefulness, and happiness of a good man.
