12
Sowhen He had washed their feet, and 1taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, "Do you knowwhat I have done to you?
13
"You call Me 2Teacher and 3Lord; and you are right, for so I am.
14
"If I then, 4the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you alsoought to washoneanother'sfeet.
15
"For I gave you 5an example that you also should do as I did to you.
16
"Truly, truly, I say to you, 6a slave is not greater than his master, nor is 7one who is sentgreater than the one who sent him.
17
"If you knowthesethings, you are 8blessedif you do them.
18
"9I do not speak of all of you. I know the ones I have 10chosen; but it is 11that the Scripture may be fulfilled, '12HE WHO EATS MY BREAD HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEELAGAINST ME.'
19
"From now on 13I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe that 14I am He.

Jesus Predicts His Betrayal
21 When Jesus had saidthis, He 16became troubled in spirit, and testified and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, that 17one of you will betray Me."
22
The disciples began looking at oneanother, 18at a loss to know of whichone He was speaking.
23
There was reclining on 19Jesus'bosomone of His disciples, 20whomJesusloved.
24
SoSimonPetergestured to him, and said to him, "Tell us who it is of whom He is speaking."
25
He, 21leaningbackthus on Jesus'bosom, said to Him, "Lord, who is it?"
26
Jesusthenanswered, "That is the one for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him."So when He had dipped the morsel, He took and gave it to Judas, 22the son of SimonIscariot.
27
After the morsel, 23Satanthen24entered into him. ThereforeJesussaid to him, "What you do, doquickly."
28
Nownoone of thosereclining at the table knew for what purpose He had saidthis to him.
29
For some were supposing, becauseJudas25had the moneybox, that Jesus was saying to him, "Buy the things we haveneed of 26for the feast "; orelse, that he should 27givesomething to the poor.
30
So after receiving the morsel he went out immediately; and 28it was night.
31
Thereforewhen he had gone out, Jesussaid, "Now is 29the Son of Man30glorified, and 31God is glorified in Him;
32
ifGod is glorified in Him, 32God will alsoglorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately.
