Then1the soldiers, when they had crucifiedJesus, took His outergarments and made2fourparts, a part to everysoldier and also the tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in onepiece.

So they said to oneanother, "3Let us not tear it, but castlots for it, to decide whose it shall be"; 4this was to fulfill the Scripture: "THEY 5DIVIDED MY OUTERGARMENTSAMONG THEM, AND FOR MY CLOTHING THEY CASTLOTS."

Therefore the soldiersdidthesethings. 6But standing by the cross of Jesus were 7His mother, and His mother'ssister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and 8MaryMagdalene.
