1Lord, I will sing about your great love forever. For all time to come, I will tell how faithful you are.2I will tell everyone that your love stands firm forever. I will tell them that you are always faithful, even in heaven itself.3You said, "Here is the covenant I have made with my chosen one. Here is the promise I have made to my servant David.4'I will make your family line continue forever. I will make your kingdom secure for all time to come.' " "Selah"5Lord, the heavens praise you for your miracles. When your holy angels gather together, they praise you for how faithful you are.6Who in the skies above can compare with the Lord? Who among the angels is like the Lord?7God is highly respected among his holy angels. He's more wonderful than all those who are around him.8LORD God who rules over all, who is like you? Lord, you are mighty. You are faithful in everything you do.9You rule over the stormy sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them down.10You crushed Egypt and killed her people. With your powerful arm you scattered your enemies.11The heavens belong to you. The earth is yours also. You made the world and everything that is in it.12You created everything from north to south. Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon sing to you with joy.13Your arm is powerful. Your hand is strong. Your right hand is mighty.14Your kingdom is built on what is right and fair. Your truth and faithful love lead the way in front of you.15Blessed are those who have learned to shout praise to you. Lord, they live in the light of your favor.16All day long they are full of joy because of who you are. They praise you because you do what is right.17You are their glory. You give them strength. You favor them by honoring our king.18Our king is like a shield that keeps us safe. He belongs to the Lord. He belongs to the Holy One of Israel.19You once spoke to your faithful people in a vision. You said, "I have given strength to a soldier. I have raised up a young man from among the people.20I have found my servant David. I have poured my sacred oil on his head.21My powerful hand will keep him going. My mighty arm will give him strength.22No enemies will require him to bring gifts to them. No evil person will beat him down.23I will crush the king's enemies. I will completely destroy them.24I will love him and be faithful to him. Because of me his power will increase.25I will give him a great kingdom. It will reach from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River.26He will call out to me, 'You are my Father. You are my God. You are my Rock and Savior.'27I will also make him my oldest son. Among all the kings of the earth, he will be the most important one.28I will continue to love him forever. I will never break my covenant with him.29I will make his family line continue forever. His kingdom will last as long as the heavens.30"What if his sons turn away from my laws and do not follow them?31What if they disobey my orders and fail to keep my commands?32Then I will punish them for their sins. I will strike them with the rod. I will whip them for their evil acts.33But I will not stop loving David. I will always be faithful to him.34I will not break my covenant. I will not go back on my word.35Once and for all, I have made a promise with an oath. It is based on my holiness. And I will not lie to David.36His family line will continue forever. His kingdom will last as long as the sun.37It will last forever like the moon, that faithful witness in the sky." "Selah"38But you have turned your back on your anointed king. You have been very angry with him.39You have broken the covenant you made with him. You have thrown your servant's crown into the dirt.40You have broken through the walls around his city. You have completely destroyed his secure places.41All those who pass by have carried off what belonged to him. His neighbors make fun of him.42You have made his enemies strong. You have made all of them happy.43You have made his sword useless. You have not helped him in battle.44You have put an end to his glory. You have knocked his throne to the ground.45You have cut short the days of his life. You have covered him with shame. "Selah"46Lord, how long will you hide yourself? Will it be forever? How long will your anger burn like fire?47Remember how short my life is. You have created all people for such a useless purpose!48What man can live and not die? Who can escape the power of the grave? "Selah"49Lord, where is the great love you used to have? You faithfully promised it to David.50Lord, remember how my enemies have made fun of me. I've had to put up with mean words from all of the nations.51Lord, your enemies have said mean things. They have laughed at everything your anointed king has done.52Give praise to the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.
1Sing a new song to the Lord. All you people of the earth, sing to the Lord.2Sing to the Lord. Praise him. Day after day tell about how he saves us.3Tell the nations about his glory. Tell all people about the wonderful things he has done.4The LORD is great. He is really worthy of praise. People should have respect for him as the greatest God of all.5All of the gods of the nations are like their statues. They can't do anything. But the LORD made the heavens.6Glory and majesty are all around him. Strength and glory can be seen in his temple.7Praise the Lord, all you nations. Praise the LORD for his glory and strength.8Praise the LORD for the glory that belongs to him. Bring an offering and come into the courtyards of his temple.9Worship the LORD because of his beauty and holiness. All you people of the earth, tremble when you are with him.10Say to the nations, "The LORD rules." The world is firmly set in place. It can't be moved. The LORD will judge the people of the world fairly.11Let the heavens be full of joy. Let the earth be glad. Let the ocean and everything in it roar.12Let the fields and everything in them be glad. Then all of the trees in the forest will sing with joy.13They will sing to the Lord, because he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the people of the world in keeping with what is right and true.
1Shout to the LORD with joy, everyone on earth.2Worship the LORD with gladness. Come to him with songs of joy.3I want you to realize that the LORD is God. He made us, and we belong to him. We are his people. We are the sheep belonging to his flock.4Give thanks as you enter the gates of his temple. Give praise as you enter its courtyards. Give thanks to him and praise his name.5The LORD is good. His faithful love continues forever. It will last for all time to come.
1I will sing about your love and fairness. Lord, I will sing praise to you.2I will be careful to lead a life that is without blame. When will you come and help me? I will lead a life that is without blame in my house.3I won't look at anything that is evil. I hate the acts of people who aren't faithful to you. I don't even want people like that around me.4I will stay away from those whose hearts are twisted. I don't want to have anything to do with evil.5I will get rid of anyone who tells lies about his neighbor in secret. I won't put up with anyone whose eyes and heart are proud.6I will look with favor on the faithful people in the land. They will live with me. Those whose lives are without blame will serve me.7No one who lies and cheats will live in my house. No one who tells lies will serve me.8Every morning I will get rid of all the sinful people in the land. I will remove from the city of the LORD everyone who does what is evil.
1Give thanks to the Lord. Worship him. Tell the nations what he has done.2Sing to him. Sing praise to him. Tell about all of the wonderful things he has done.3Praise him, because his name is holy. Let the hearts of those who trust in the LORD be glad.4Look to the LORD and to his strength. Always look to him.5Remember the wonderful things he has done. Remember his miracles and how he judged our enemies.6Remember what he has done, you children of his servant Abraham. Remember it, you people of Jacob, God's chosen ones.7He is the LORD our God. He judges the whole earth.8He will keep his covenant forever. He will keep his promise for all time to come.9He will keep the covenant he made with Abraham. He will keep the oath he took when he made his promise to Isaac.10He made it stand as a law for Jacob. He made it stand as a covenant for Israel. It will last forever.11He said, "I will give you the land of Canaan. It will belong to you."12At first there weren't very many of God's people. There were only a few. And they were strangers in the land.13They wandered from nation to nation. They wandered from one kingdom to another.14But God didn't allow anyone to beat them down. To keep them safe, he gave a command to kings.15He said to them, "Do not touch my anointed ones. Do not harm my prophets."16He made the people in the land go hungry. He destroyed all their food supplies.17He sent a man ahead of them into Egypt. That man was Joseph. He had been sold as a slave.18The Egyptians put his feet in chains. They put an iron collar around his neck.19He was in prison until what he said would happen came true. The word of the LORD proved that he was right.20The king of Egypt sent for Joseph and let him out of prison. The ruler of many nations set him free.21He put Joseph in charge of his palace. He made him ruler over everything he owned.22Joseph was in charge of teaching the princes. He taught the elders how to think and live wisely.23Then the rest of Jacob's family went to Egypt. The people of Israel lived as outsiders in the land of Ham.24The LORD gave his people so many children that there were too many of them for their enemies.25He made the Egyptians hate his people. The Egyptians made evil plans against them.26The LORD sent his servant Moses to the king of Egypt. He sent Aaron, his chosen one, along with him.27The LORD gave them the power to do miraculous signs among the Egyptians. They did his wonders in the land of Ham.28He sent darkness over the land. He did it because the Egyptians had refused to obey his words.29He turned their rivers and streams into blood. He caused the fish in them to die.30Their land was covered with frogs. Frogs even went into the bedrooms of the rulers.31The LORD spoke, and large numbers of flies came. Gnats filled the whole country.32He turned their rain into hail. Lightning flashed all through their land.33He destroyed their vines and fig trees. He broke down the trees in Egypt.34He spoke, and the locusts came. There were so many of them they couldn't be counted.35They ate up every green thing in the land. They ate up what the land produced.36Then he killed the oldest son of every family in Egypt. He struck down the oldest of all of their sons.37He brought the people of Israel out of Egypt. The Egyptians loaded them down with silver and gold. From among the tribes of Israel no one got tired or fell down.38The Egyptians were glad when the people of Israel left. They were terrified because of Israel.39The LORD spread out a cloud to cover his people. He gave them a fire to light up the night.40They asked for meat, and he brought them quail. He satisfied them with manna, the bread of heaven.41He broke open a rock, and streams of water poured out. They flowed like a river in the desert.42He remembered the holy promise he had made to his servant Abraham.43His chosen people shouted for joy as he brought them out of Egypt.44He gave them the lands of other nations. He let them take over what others had worked for.45He did it so they might obey his rules and follow his laws. Praise the Lord.
1Lord, remember David and all of the hard times he went through.2Lord, he took an oath. Mighty One of Jacob, he made a promise to you.3He said, "I won't enter my house or go to bed.4I won't let my eyes sleep. I won't close my eyelids5until I find a place for the Lord. I want to build a house for the Mighty One of Jacob."6Here are the words we heard in Ephrathah. We heard them again in the fields of Kiriath Jearim.7"Let us go to the LORD's house. Let us worship at his feet.8Lord, rise up and come to your resting place. Come in together with the ark. It's the sign of your power.9May your priests put on godliness as if it were their clothes. May your faithful people sing with joy."10In honor of your servant David, don't turn your back on your anointed king.11The LORD took an oath and made a promise to David. It is a firm promise that he will never break. He said, "After you die, I will place one of your own sons on your throne.12If your sons keep my covenant and the laws I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever."13The LORD has chosen Zion. That's the place where he wants to live.14He has said, "This will be my resting place for ever and ever. Here I will sit on my throne, because that's what I want.15I will greatly bless Zion with everything it needs. I will give plenty of food to the poor people living there.16I will put salvation on its priests as if it were their clothes. God's faithful people will always sing with joy.17"Here in Jerusalem I will raise up a mighty king from the family of David. I will set up the lamp of David's kingdom for my anointed king. Its flame will burn brightly forever.18I will put shame on his enemies as if it were their clothes. But the royal crown he wears will shine with glory."
