1 Sǎoluó zhuīgǎn Fēilìshì rén huí lái , yǒu rén gàosu tā shuō , Dàwèi zaì yǐn jī dǐ de kuàngyĕ .

After Saul returned from pursuing the Philistines, he was told, “David is in the Desert of En Gedi.”
2 Sǎoluó jiù cóng Yǐsèliè rén zhōng tiānxuǎn sān qiā jīng bīng , shuaìlǐng tāmen wǎng yĕ yáng de pánshí qù , xún suǒ Dàwèi hé gēnsuí tāde rén .

So Saul took three thousand able young men from all Israel and set out to look for David and his men near the Crags of the Wild Goats.
3 Dào le lùpáng de yángjuàn , zaì nàli yǒu dòng , Sǎoluó jìn qù dà jiĕ . Dàwèi hé gēnsuí tāde rén zhēng cáng zaì dòng lǐ de shēn chù .

He came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave was there, and Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were far back in the cave.

The men said, “This is the day the LORD spoke of when he said to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.’ ” Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.
5 Suíhòu Dàwèi xīn zhōng zì zé , yīnwei gē xià Sǎoluó de yī jīn .

Afterward, David was conscience-stricken for having cut off a corner of his robe.
6 Duì gēnsuí tāde rén shuō , wǒde zhǔ nǎi shì Yēhéhuá de shòu gāo zhĕ , wǒ zaì Yēhéhuá miànqián wàn bù gǎn shēnshǒu haì tā , yīn tā shì Yēhéhuá de shòu gāo zhĕ .

He said to his men, “The LORD forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the LORD’s anointed, or lay my hand on him; for he is the anointed of the LORD.”
7 Dàwèi yòng zhè huà lán zhù gēnsuí tāde rén , bùróng tāmen qǐlai haì Sǎoluó . Sǎoluó qǐlai , cóng dòng lǐ chū qù xíng lù .

With these words David sharply rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul. And Saul left the cave and went his way.
8 Suíhòu Dàwèi yĕ qǐlai , cóng dòng lǐ chū qù , hūjiào Sǎoluó shuō , wǒ zhǔ , wǒ wáng . Sǎoluó huí tóu guānkàn , Dàwèi jiù qū shēn , liǎn fú yú dì xià baì .

Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul, “My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.
9 Dàwèi duì Sǎoluó shuō , nǐ wèihé tīng xìn rén de chán yán , shuō Dàwèi xiǎng yào haì nǐ ne .

He said to Saul, “Why do you listen when men say, ‘David is bent on harming you’?
10 Jīnrì nǐ qīnyǎn kànjian zaì dòng zhōng , Yēhéhuá jiāng nǐ jiāo zaì wǒ shǒu lǐ . yǒu rén jiào wǒ shā nǐ , wǒ què aìxī nǐ , shuō , wǒ bù gǎn shēnshǒu haì wǒde zhǔ , yīnwei tā shì Yēhéhuá de shòu gāo zhĕ .

This day you have seen with your own eyes how the LORD delivered you into my hands in the cave. Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you; I said, ‘I will not lay my hand on my lord, because he is the LORD’s anointed.’
11 Wǒ fù a , kàn kàn nǐ waì paó de yī jīn zaì wǒ shǒu zhōng . wǒ gē xià nǐde yī jīn , méiyǒu shā nǐ . nǐ yóu cǐ kĕyǐ zhīdào wǒ méiyǒu è yì pàn nì nǐ . nǐ suīrán liè qǔ wǒde méng , wǒ què méiyǒu dé zuì nǐ .

See, my father, look at this piece of your robe in my hand! I cut off the corner of your robe but did not kill you. See that there is nothing in my hand to indicate that I am guilty of wrongdoing or rebellion. I have not wronged you, but you are hunting me down to take my life.
12 Yuàn Yēhéhuá zaì nǐ wǒ zhōngjiān pànduàn shìfēi , zaì nǐ shēnshang wèi wǒ shēnyuān , wǒ què bù qīn shǒu jiā haì yú nǐ .

May the LORD judge between you and me. And may the LORD avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you.
13 Gǔrén yǒu jù súyǔ shuō , è shì chūyú è rén . wǒ què bù qīn shǒu jiā haì yú nǐ .

As the old saying goes, ‘From evildoers come evil deeds,’ so my hand will not touch you.
14 Yǐsèliè wáng chūlai yào xúnzhǎo shuí ne . zhuīgǎn shuí ne . bú guō zhuīgǎn yī tiaó sǐ gǒu , yī gè gè zǎo jiù shì le .

“Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Who are you pursuing? A dead dog? A flea?
15 Yuàn Yēhéhuá zaì nǐ wǒ zhōngjiān shīxíng shĕnpàn , duàndìng shìfēi , bìngqiĕ jiàn chá , wèi wǒ shēnyuān , jiù wǒ tuōlí nǐde shǒu .

May the LORD be our judge and decide between us. May he consider my cause and uphold it; may he vindicate me by delivering me from your hand.”
16 Dàwèi xiàng Sǎoluó shuō wán zhè huà , Sǎoluó shuō , wǒ ér Dàwèi , zhè shì nǐde shēngyīn ma . jiù fàng shēng dà kū ,

When David finished saying this, Saul asked, “Is that your voice, David my son?” And he wept aloud.
17 Duì Dàwèi shuō , nǐ bǐ wǒ gōngyì . yīnwei nǐ yǐ shàn dāi wǒ , wǒ què yǐ è dāi nǐ .

“You are more righteous than I,” he said. “You have treated me well, but I have treated you badly.
18 Nǐ jīnrì xiǎnmíng shì yǐ shàn dāi wǒ . yīnwei Yēhéhuá jiāng wǒ jiāo zaì nǐ shǒu lǐ , nǐ què méiyǒu shā wǒ .

You have just now told me about the good you did to me; the LORD delivered me into your hands, but you did not kill me.
19 Rén ruò yùjiàn chóudí , qǐ kĕn fàng tā píngān wú shì dì qù ne . yuàn Yēhéhuá yīn nǐ jīnrì xiàng wǒ suǒ xíng de , yǐ shàn bào nǐ .

When a man finds his enemy, does he let him get away unharmed? May the LORD reward you well for the way you treated me today.
20 Wǒ yĕ zhīdào nǐ bìyào zuò wáng , Yǐsèliè de guó bìjiān lì zaì nǐ shǒu lǐ .
20
I know that you will surely be king and that the kingdom of Israel will be established in your hands.
21 Xiànzaì nǐ yào zhǐ zhe Yēhéhuá xiàng wǒ qǐshì , bù jiǎnchú wǒde hòuyì , zaì wǒ fù jiā bù miè mò wǒde míng .

Now swear to me by the LORD that you will not kill off my descendants or wipe out my name from my father’s family.”
22 Yúshì Dàwèi xiàng Sǎoluó qǐshì , Sǎoluó jiù huí jiā qù . Dàwèi hé gēnsuí tāde rén shàng shān zhaì qù le .

So David gave his oath to Saul. Then Saul returned home, but David and his men went up to the stronghold.
