16 E quando tutto il popolo d’Israele ebbe veduto che il re non avea loro acconsentito, rispose al re, dicendo: Qual parte abbiamo noi in Davide? noi non abbiamo alcuna ragione di eredità nel figliuolo d’Isai; o Israele, vadasene ciascuno alle sue stanze; o Davide, provvedi ora alla tua casa. Così tutto Israele se ne andò alle sue stanze.

When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, they answered the king: “What share do we have in David, what part in Jesse’s son? To your tents, Israel! Look after your own house, David!” So all the Israelites went home.
