1 Dìxiōng men , wǒ bǎ shén cìgĕi Mǎqídùn zhòng jiàohuì de ēn gàosu nǐmen .

And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches.
2 Jiù shì tāmen zaì huànnàn zhōng shòu dà shìliàn de shíhou , réng yǒu mǎnzū de kuaìlè , zaì jí qióng zhī jiān , hái géwaì xiǎn chū tāmen lè juān de hòu ēn .

In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.
3 Wǒ kĕyǐ zhèngmíng tāmen shì àn zhe lìliang , érqiĕ yĕ guò le lìliang , zìjǐ gānxīn lèyì de juān zhù .

For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,
4 Zaì sān de qiú wǒmen , zhún tāmen zaì zhè gōngjǐ shèngtú de ēn qíng shang yǒu fèn .

they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people.
5 Bìngqiĕ tāmen suǒ zuò de , búdàn zhào wǒmen suǒ xiǎngwàng de , gèng zhào shén de zhǐyì , xiān bǎ zìjǐ xiàn gĕi zhǔ , yòu guī fù le wǒmen .

And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.
6 Yīncǐ wǒ quàn tí duō , jìrán zaì nǐmen zhōngjiān kāi bàn zhè cí huì de shì , jiù dāng bàn chéng le .

So we urged Titus, just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part.
7 Nǐmen jìrán zaì xìnxīn , kǒu cái , zhīshi , rèxīn , hé daì wǒmen de aì xīn shang , dōu géwaì xiǎn chū mǎnzū lái , jiù dāng zaì zhè cí huì de shì shang , yĕ géwaì xiǎn chū mǎnzū lái .

But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you —see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
8 Wǒ shuō zhè huà , bú shì fēnfu nǐmen , nǎi shì jiè zhe biérén de rèxīn , shìyàn nǐmen aì xīn de shízaì .

I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others.
9 Nǐmen zhīdào wǒmen zhǔ Yēsū Jīdū de ēndiǎn . tā bĕnlái fùzú , què wèi nǐmen chéng le pínqióng , jiào nǐmen yīn tāde pínqióng , kĕyǐ chéngwéi fùzú .

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
10 Wǒ zaì zhè shì shang bǎ wǒde yìjiàn gàosu nǐmen , shì yǔ nǐmen yǒu yì . yīnwei nǐmen xià shǒu bàn zhè shì , érqiĕ qǐ cǐ xīnyì , yǐjing yǒu yī nián le .

And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so.
11 Rújīn jiù dāng bàn chéng zhè shì . jì yǒu yuàn zuò de xīn , yĕ dāng zhào nǐmen suǒyǒude qù bàn chéng .

Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.
12 Yīnwei rén ruò yǒu yuàn zuò de xīn , bǐ méng yuènà , nǎi shì zhào tā suǒyǒude , bìng bú shì zhào tā suǒ wú de .

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
13 Wǒ yuán bú shì yào biérén qīng shĕng , nǐmen shòu léi ,

Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality.
14 Nǎi yào jūn píng . jiù shì yào nǐmen de fù yú , xiànzaì kĕyǐ bǔ tāmende bùzú , shǐ tāmende fù yú , jiānglái yĕ kĕyǐ bǔ nǐmen de bùzú , zhè jiù jūn píng le .

At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality,
15 Rú jīng shang suǒ jì , duō shōu de yĕ méiyǒu yú , shǎo shōu de yĕ méiyǒu quē .

as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”
16 Duō xiè shén , gǎndòng tí duō de xīn , jiào tā daì nǐmen yīnqín , xiàng wǒ yíyàng .

Thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same concern I have for you.
17 Tā gùrán shì tīng le wǒde quàn . dàn zìjǐ gèng shì rèxīn , qíngyuàn wǎng nǐmen nàli qù .

For Titus not only welcomed our appeal, but he is coming to you with much enthusiasm and on his own initiative.
18 Wǒmen hái dǎfa yī wèi xiōngdi hé tā tóng qù . zhè rén zaì fúyin shang dé le zhòng jiàohuì de chēngzàn .

And we are sending along with him the brother who is praised by all the churches for his service to the gospel.
19 Búdàn zhèyàng , tā yĕ beì zhòng jiàohuì tiānxuǎn , hé wǒmen tóngxíng , bǎ suǒ tuō yǔ wǒmen de juān zī sòng dào le , kĕyǐ róngyào zhǔ , yòu biǎomíng wǒmen lèyì de xīn .

What is more, he was chosen by the churches to accompany us as we carry the offering, which we administer in order to honor the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help.
20 Zhè jiù miǎndé yǒu rén yīn wǒmen shōu de juān yín hĕn duō , jiù tiāo wǒmen de bù shì .

We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift.
21 Wǒmen liú xīn xíng guāngmíng de shì , búdàn zaì zhǔ miànqián , jiù zaì rén miànqián , yĕ shì zhèyàng .

For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.
22 Wǒmen yòu dǎfa yī wèi xiōngdi tóng qù . zhè rén de rèxīn , wǒmen zaì xǔduō shì shang , lǚcì shìyàn guō , xiànzaì tā yīnwei shēnxìn nǐmen , jiù gèngjiā rèxīn le .

In addition, we are sending with them our brother who has often proved to us in many ways that he is zealous, and now even more so because of his great confidence in you.
23 Lùn dào tí duō , tā shì wǒde tóngbàn , yītóng wéi nǐmen laólù de . lùn dào nà liǎng wèi xiōngdi , tāmen shì jiàohuì de shǐzhĕ , shì Jīdū de róngyào .

As for Titus, he is my partner and co-worker among you; as for our brothers, they are representatives of the churches and an honor to Christ.
24 Suǒyǐ nǐmen wù yào zaì zhòng jiàohuì miànqián , xiǎnmíng nǐmen aì xīn de píngjù , bìng wǒ suǒ kuājiǎng nǐmen de píngjù .

Therefore show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our pride in you, so that the churches can see it.
